Embossed Chipboard

Like I mentioned yesterday, another fun thing that you can do with chipboard is emboss it! It’s easy, it’s fun and it looks “oh, so pretty!” Here’s a card to illustrate:

Chipcard, Embossed

What You’ll Need:

  • Chipboard
  • VersaMark ink
  • Embossing Powder(s)
  • Heat Tool

Begin by inking the surface of your chipboard with VersaMark ink. Once it’s all good and sticky, cover with embossing powder, like so:

Then take your heat tool and melt the powder (watch your fingers!). You can use an old pair of tweezers to help hold what you are embossing if you think that you’d burn yourself otherwise (I say “old” in case you get some embossing gunk on it by accident).

I could have stopped right here, but I thought that my white embossed flower looked a little boring. So, I pulled out my Iridescent Ice embossing powder (which is all glittery and shimmery) and coated my flower with more VersaMark to emboss it a second time. Here is the result:

I finished up by adding a little Prima and a brad. So sweet and sparkly! It’s darling.

So, are you starting to notice how easy it is to cover chipboard?! It seems that anything you can do to paper, you can do to chipboard! So, let’s not keep it in our closets as if it were so difficult to put to good use. I challenge you to pull out some chipboard today and think about all the fun things you can do to cover it!

And stay tuned for tomorrow’s give away! I bet you can guess what it will be… and no, it’s not flowers this week!

    I am feeling stupid roll

I thought the photo had an embossing powder background-meaning the pink part! I was sitting her wondering how to get it that detailed. My brain is fried-just finished my taxes. The MAN got more than his fair share this year evil and I would like a say in how its all spent-give everyone rubber stamps and ink and they will be too busy creating something beautiful to make ugly wars! smile

I also thought the background was chipboard. LOL I love what you did though. What a great card.

This is a beautiful card. Makes you love pink. I must get into this chipboard craze. I bought lots and have never used it. Unforgivable.
