Friday Freebie - Aunt May’s Posies

Something new for my Sweet Shoppe means something new for you! Here’s a sneak peak at my latest Prima-like blossoms, “Aunt May’s Posies” (they aren’t even listed yet because I don’t have time today for another photo shoot—ha!):

Aunt May's Posies

The goodies in this week’s giveaway include:

  • Five pink floral embellishments, each with a silver brad
  • One yard green gingham ribbon

To enter to win these sweet little flowers, all you need to do is post a comment to answer the following question:

Where do you like to go when it’s vacation time?

Every year in September my husband’s family likes to get together in the Outer Banks (that’s when the rates drop significantly!). We rent a huge house for a week and enjoy relaxing, chatting and lounging by the pool… and this year my sister-in-law and I are going to add a little more sight-seeing to the list! I can’t wait. It’s such a nice time. I guess I’m dreaming about it already because that’s the question I wanted to ask this week! So tell me—where do you like to go when it’s vacation time?

I will be accepting entries up until midnight on Sunday the 20th (EST). Please, no more then one comment per person! The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday the 21st at noon. Best of luck to you!

I would like to go to America and Hawaii.
I’m going to New York, but in Hawaii I don’t know

Love Colorado & New Mexico. The mountains are beautiful, the weather is a lot cooler than here in our summertime triple-digit temperatures. And - there’s great shopping & sightseeing.

We just got back from 2 weeks in Key West (and Miami Beach). In fact, I still haven’t unpacked…and I am ready to go back. My answer: KEY WEST, FLORIDA!!!!

Well, this summer, I’ll be in Hawaii for my 10th anniversary…so I better say that. DH is very excited!

Houseboat trip on Lake Meade. Breathtaking beautiful beyond words. A group of 11 of us spent a week in September when the prices are lower. We also had the beauty of a full moon when we were there. I wholeheartedly recommend it!!

Orlando - Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Sea World!! We lived 2 hours away all my life and rarely went, but now that we are in NC I can’t wait to go back.

My husband, two sons and daughter in laws love to fish. We rent apntoon on one of the lakes close to home (Within 5 hour drive) and spend some tome together camping, fishing and swimming. Of course Mom always catches the biggest and the most fish. Grew up near a river and fished with my dad. Love the quiet time on the water. I hope to instill this love of fishing in my first grandson born 2 months ago. Thanks for the great blog candy. Enjoy your site so much.

I would love to go to Disney world without the kids -) . We usually don’t do summer vacations because money has been really tight.

We live in California but are from Minnesota so we like to go back there for vacation. We have no Family in CA so it is great to go home to see them all. In fact, we are going back to MN for 3 weeks in July! Woo Hoo.

We have a time share in Cancun, Mexico that we enjoy visiting. We haven’t been there for several years since my DH was stationed in Germany, but now that we are back in the states we plan on going in the fall. Our DS hasn’t been there yet so it will be fun seeing it again through his eyes. Beach & pool, what could be more fun for a 4 y/o boy? D

  12. 12 Jenn Jones May 18th, 2007 at 11:53 am

My favorite places to visit are Chicago in the spring and summer and Breckenridge in the winter!

  13. 13 Kirsi May 18th, 2007 at 11:54 am

I live in Northern Wyoming and there are lots of places to vacation in Wyo, Montana, and South Dakota. My favorite place to vacation since the kids were all little was and still is the Black Hills, South Dakota. What a fun place to go and play. There’s something for everyone! )

I love to travel and with my 2 weeks vacation a year (that’s not a lot compared to most people!), we definitely like to use them. I rarely go somewhere twice because I like to explore new places.. This summer I’m hoping to go to Portugal but we haven’t made any definite plans!! My dream would be to have a beach or ski house where we could escape to on the weekends and spend it playing games and having family time!

  16. 16 Stephanie May 18th, 2007 at 1:03 pm

For vacation time I like to go to the city only a couple of hours away and stay with my in-laws. Am I weird or what? LOL! My husband and I both grew up there though and we have lots of friends to visit and hang out with and his parents are awesome for babysitting for us so we can have a break!

  17. 17 Angel May 18th, 2007 at 1:09 pm

We usually go see family when it’s vacation time since we are military and live away from them. But my favorite spot is to go somewhere warm and sunny with sand. hawaii or Florida are good!

  18. 18 Emy May 18th, 2007 at 1:17 pm

Oh, I would love a week on the Outer Banks…that was so much easier when I lived in VA. Now that CA is home, it’s nowhere near as convenient. :O

  19. 19 Cheryl Kelly-Van Domelen May 18th, 2007 at 2:27 pm

Hi! I just got back from Montego Bay, Jamaica on Tuesday. It was awesome. The ocean had to be 100 degrees in some spots. This was our 3rd time there and not our last!

  20. 20 Andrea May 18th, 2007 at 2:54 pm

Where would I like to head on vacation? Somewhere where there are no phones, no utility bills, no dust bunnies and no cares in the world… CAMPING! Whether it be raining, hot and sunny or snowing (yes, that has happened before!), camping is the ultimate relaxing vacation! Let the camper wheels roll on!

  21. 21 Florence May 18th, 2007 at 3:38 pm

;-) I don’t have just one favorite spot, but am a history buff and do try to find places of interest. Being of Italian heritage I guess my all time favorite spot would be in Tuscany Italy. Now if I could just win the lotterty I would move there, yes really I would

  22. 22 Kerry May 18th, 2007 at 4:04 pm

    Hi Nicole,

Those flowers are really pretty. If I could go anywhere on vacation, I would love to go to Ireland.

What pretty flowers. Lovely choice for blog candy.

Vacation? What’s that? lol I haven’t been anywhere for so long. I think if I could go on vacation, I’d just love a weekend or better yet a week away to shop in the US. fter reading about them on blogs, I would love to see the stamp and craft stores that you have in the US.

  24. 24 Linda SS May 18th, 2007 at 4:43 pm

I love to spend a relaxing day on the lake. I’ll never forgive my hubby for trading in our boat to buy himself a motorcycle cry Next vacation I’m hoping to go to Italy & Ireland.

  25. 25 Regina Davis May 18th, 2007 at 5:20 pm

One of our favorite vacation spots is Puerto Vallarta! We were there for two weeks in February and really enjoyed ourselves.

  26. 26 Deanna Tam May 18th, 2007 at 6:24 pm

I love to vacation at the Oragan Coast. We vacation at Seaside. I love the sand there it is so nice and fine. My son called it our beach house(actually a resort).

  27. 27 lilian May 18th, 2007 at 6:49 pm

my favorite place was bora bora… it is literally heaven on earth!! but i would love to go to the greek islands next. )

  28. 28 Amie May 18th, 2007 at 7:21 pm

Well, I’d like to say “anywhere fun and safe and affordable with my family, as long as we’re together, I’m in heaven” and of course that’s somewhat true. But I’ll be frank. I’d love to take them to Disneyland! happiest place on earth!

  29. 29 Deanne May 18th, 2007 at 7:31 pm

Until our move back to our home state vacations meant visiting family, which isn’t really a vacation. This year we will go camping in Yosemite! We haven’t been in years! It will be great to get back into camping, can’t wait!

  30. 30 Amy P. May 18th, 2007 at 10:38 pm

Our vacations are usually extended family trips to the beach…in NC or SC. We love the sand and the peaceful sound of the waves (and the kids screaming with delight)!

  31. 31 Shannon May 18th, 2007 at 11:29 pm

I don’t have a favorite vacation location. Just as long as there is enough to do during the day and keep the kids interested. Then when it is evening, I really prefer something away from all of the madness and away from of all the attractions. I really like it at my grandmothers in the Hill Country of Texas. So relaxing.

  32. 32 Jan Scholl May 19th, 2007 at 2:07 am

Vacation isnt a word in my dictinary but if I could go anywhere, it would be by myself somewhere hot. I dont want to visit anyone, know anyone or have any obligations for time. I just would explore and relax.

  33. 33 Anna May 19th, 2007 at 2:09 am

Is their a possible way to enlarge your font? It is so hard to read. Other than that I absoultly love your site. Thank you!!!!!

  34. 34 Allison May 19th, 2007 at 3:39 am

If I could go somewhere, it would either be Hawaii or the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been to both places before (I used to live in the Bay Area) so it would be nice to have a plodding vacation rather than one where I have to see all the sites!

  35. 35 sandi 3 pugs May 19th, 2007 at 4:32 am

We live on a lake in the mountains of Va … it is like a vacation every day!! I have a beautiful view out my windows while I scrapbook and MAKE CARDS every day.

  36. 36 Paula G. May 19th, 2007 at 4:45 am

For vacation my hubby and I head for Arizona in November. It is not too hot that time of year, all the kids are back in school so we pretty much have the pool at the hotel to ourselves. We love Lake Havasu and have been doing this now for many years. Usually while there I teach a few stamping classes. Life is good.

  37. 37 Tilly May 19th, 2007 at 7:05 am

A wildlife park in Africa, preferably Etosha in Namibia or Chobe in Botswana. We used to live in Africa and miss it. It gets under your skin and you just have to go back …!

  38. 38 Beth F May 19th, 2007 at 7:36 am

I have never been on a vacation. But if I could go. . .I think that I would like to discover my home state of Michigan.

  39. 39 Denise May 19th, 2007 at 7:51 am

Since I was a baby my family has owned a cottage in Lake George, NY (which is in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY) It is by far my favorite vacation spot…I love to share my childhood memories with my own children!

  40. 40 Patty Holschen May 19th, 2007 at 8:24 am

I would like to go see Disneyland or Disneyworld. We rarely go on vacation though, but if we did that is where I would love to go.

  41. 41 Pat May 19th, 2007 at 9:27 am

My ideal vacation spot is Honolulu, Hiawaii… So much to see and do and the beaches are fabulous…temperature ideal…heaven on earth….

  42. 42 kathy foy May 19th, 2007 at 9:53 am

I haven’t been any where in a while because I enjoy the tranquility of my backyard complete with a 36 ft inground swimming pool and a 5 person hot tub. I am hoping this year to build an asian serenity garden back there. But this year I am going on vacation I am going to San Diego and then onto Las Vegas. Love your blog

  43. 43 Irene May 19th, 2007 at 12:59 pm

We like to go visit my DH’s family in CA (we are in VA) so we only get to do that trip every other year. In the off years, we usually take a week at the beach in the summer and then in the winter we usually take a week vacation and hang around the house, but don’t DO anything other than play )

  46. 46 Carolyn S May 19th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
