Christmas in July

It’s July! Merry Christmas!

If you’ve been reading along with my blog-ramblings for awhile now, you’ll know that it’s my master plan not to be taken off guard by the Christmas Season this year. So, I’m starting early! Yes—this early. That’s because I just love a home-made Christmas and that takes time and planning, doesn’t it?

I’m sure there are others out there who dream of lovely, restful home-made holidays, too. So I’m cordially inviting you to come along with me on this little adventure.

So, what’s the first thing we’ll need? To know where we’re going! Here’s your challenge for the day:

  • Grab a notepad, a pen and cup of something yummy. Snag whatever quiet moment you can find in your day today and sit and daydream about this winter. What do you want it to look like? Smell like? Feel like? Daydream and write down your thoughts. Think of all the different little ways you can make these ideas come to life and make some notes for yourself. We’re drafting our master plan here!
  • While you’re at it, work on your gift list, too. Who’s on it? Family, friends, co-workers and so on and so forth…
  • Any ideas as to what you want to make as gifts this year? Jot them down now!
  • Once you’re done with all your daydreaming and scribbly note-taking, transfer your ideas to a more permanent and pretty place. Do you have an old planner you can redecorate? One of those nifty composition books? Whatever you have (or purchase, if you must), you’ve got the time now in July to make something pretty that will make you happy and excited just to look at it. Doesn’t that idea already bring some Holiday Cheer to your heart?

So what are we waiting for? November?! Let’s get going today! Join me, won’t you?

And if you want to join me in blogging about your own “Christmas in July” adventures, be sure to let me know by posting a comment with a link for me. I’ll then link back to you so that we all can share in the creativity! Also, feel free to borrow my banner (above) to join in the blog-along. I can’t wait to hear everyone’s ideas!

Happy stamping!

Now why didn’t I think of this? I am so with you! I have been pregnant through the last two Christmas’s so I have kinda missed the boat when it comes to a home-made Christmas…but this year that is going to change! I will definitely be blogging about this! Should be lots of fun ) Thanks so much!

LOVE this idea, Nicole! I’m such a planner. I celebrate Hanukkah, though, so I’m going to call it “Holidays in July” and will make my own banner — but I’m hoping you’ll link to me anyway! I’ll let you know when I’ve blogged about it!

It’s funny that you started this now, because I was going to do a template for a 5×7 holiday card and put it on my blog . . . and then I thought — people will think I’m crazy doing that in July!!! ) I’ll make sure to link you up to that so that your readers can take advantage of the template if they’re interested in digi.

    I’m so excited!

Wow! This is just too early for Christmas list. I’m from the South East part of Asia and July is for school list. I really can’t afford to start working on my Christmas list this early because I’m still not done with my son’s school requirements.

I have already started some Chrsitmas card drafts, no stamp to paper just “sketches” and “cased” cards with notes on what to change etc…One year I had EVERYTHING done by the end of October, even the lights were still up from last year, thanks to DH. Anyway, It was great to watch everyone else stressing about and rushing. I just sat and watched drinking my triple shot ventin caramel macciato. I do miss people watching, Germany was excellent for this…oh, I digress. Anyway! I join you, don’t know how to blog but I’ll drop you an email every know and then? K Take care and see you in a bit… razz

:o) I have been making Christmas cards since March. One day of the week, on Thursdays, it’s Holiday Thoughts on my blog and I post holiday cards. I have to say I don’t get many responses, I think it’s still a bit strange for people to see winter cards… but it’s been fun for me and I know I will appreciate it even more comes November. o ) Happy Stamping!

I’ve got a Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack coming up. I’m going to case some cards out of the new catty since i’m using new sets and won’t have a lot of time to play with them before the SAS. I plan to start working on workshop ideas for Christmas gifts after that, like compostion books and calendars. While i’m doing that i might just go ahead and make some of my Christmas gifts too.

I’ve already started on my Christmas gifts… I’m making my girls each a quilt, which takes a lot of time. I have both of their quilts about half done. I would like to make all/most of my gifts this year so it’s a definite must to start early!

What gifts are you planning to make?
